Year 6 into Year 7 Transition

We work extensively with our local primaries and our families to ensure that our Year 7 pupils have a smooth transition to secondary school. We offer a range of transition activities such as small group sessions with Senior Leaders, Summer School and dedicated Year 7 Induction Day at the beginning of the academic year. We aim to get to know all our pupils prior to their first day so that we understand how best we can support them. 

You can expect to be involved in the following:

• Year 7 Guide to starting at Coopers
• Getting to know you sessions in small groups so that children can start building relationships
• Team building day
• 1:1 Meetings with school leaders
• Summer School in August
• Bespoke Year 7 Induction Day

Transitions will happen through a child’s secondary education; it is important that these are seamless and build on each other. As a Coopers pupil moves through the school, their Year Team will ensure that they have the all the support they need to flourish.
