Applications For Entry - September 2017 Thank you for your interest in Post 16 education at Coopers from September 2017. We believe our school offers an excellent sixth form experience – and one which will be very relevant for many current Year 11 students, following the completion of GCSEs. The prospectus will help you find out much about Coopers School. If you decide to apply to Coopers, your application should be for a programme of study with specific courses that have been well considered and fit in with your talents, interests and future aims. This is all detailed in our Sixth Form Prospectus. Please ensure you have carefully read through the Prospectus, paying close attention to the individual subject entry criteria. Applications must be made on the electronic form. Applications will be accepted after the initial deadline of 2 December 2016, but this may restrict your choices.

Facilities For Sixth Form Students Coopers’ 6th form students have a wealth of state of the art facilities at their disposal. The main hub of the 6th form community is the Mary Anderson Centre, situated in our Grade II listed Mansion House. The building encompasses teaching classrooms, a careers library, IT facilities and bookable study rooms. In addition, 6th form students have access to the 6th form coffee shop, which sells hot and cold food and refreshments throughout the day, and the 6th form study centre, which has over 70 laptops for students to use during their study periods.
Enrichment For Entry - September 2017 At Coopers, we understand that our 6th form students need more than just academic qualification to prepare them for university study or employment. As a result, we offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities to support them to become future leaders. Students have a plethora of opportunities to take leading and supporting roles in music and drama productions, both on stage and through technical support; 6th form students also lead on coaching younger students through our sports academies. In addition, the house system means that students are able to lead whole school competitions and represent their house as part of the student leadership team. A number of our 6th form students also support in KS3 classes and work with local primary schools. All students undertake at least 1 hour of enrichment as part of their study programme.

Destinations Life After Sixth Form At Coopers, 6th form students are encouraged to be future thinking. Throughout Year 12 and 13, students have access to a wide range of external speakers from employers and universities and also impartial 1-1 careers advice, which they can arrange any time through the careers library. For university applicants, the UCAS process is well supported by the Post 16 team and, as a result, our students secure places at a wide range of excellent universities. Equally, if students decide to follow a different route, we ensure that they are well informed and suitably prepared for applications and interviews. Every year, our Year 13 students go on to study a broad range of degree courses at universities across Britain and abroad.  Here are some examples.
