Admission Consultation for 2021-22 We are consulting on a small change to our admissions policy, ready for students who will start with us in September 2021 (current Year 5 students). We have included an additional criteria in our admissions criteria: Priority 3 – Sibling, to include children of multiple births. The additions are highlighted in yellow. Priority 3 – Sibling and Children of Multiple Births ‘Sibling’, in this context, is defined as a full brother or sister, half brother or sister, adopted brother or sister, step brother or sister, or the child of the parent/carer’s partner, and in every case the child should be living in the same family unit at the same address. Sibling applications will only be accepted for siblings of students in Years 7-10; siblings of students in Year 11 whose parents have confirmed their commitment to the student continuing into Year 12 (written confirmation will be required) and siblings of Year 12 students who are attending a 2-year course. However, siblings of Year 13 students will not be accepted under this criterion. If one band has more than 29 siblings, the proximity criterion will be used as a tie breaker to ensure the closest 29 siblings are offered a place. Where a child who is a twin or a child of a higher multiple birth is offered a place in the usual way, but their twin or other sibling(s) of a higher multiple birth was not offered, the twin and other sibling(s) of a higher multiple birth will subsequently be offered a place, once the qualifying sibling accepts the place, even where this means going over the PAN. However, if the place at Coopers School is subsequently declined by the qualifying sibling, any subsequent places offered to non-qualifying siblings will be rescinded. To make any changes to our Admissions Policy we need to consult with our parents, local community and other local admission authorities. The consultation starts on Friday 13 December 2019 and finishes at midnight on Friday 24 January 2020. You can feedback to the school via email on admissionsconsultation@coopersschool.com or in writing, addressed to the Admissions Team. All feedback is welcome and will be used by our Governors in their decision. Thank you.
